I was surprised with Ghyll Scrambling for my hen do and I couldn’t have been happier! I laughed so much, and had an amazing time during the activity. Emma and Brian were incredible! Super friendly and made us feel so safe. Once we’d finished I got another surprise of homemade brownies, Prosecco and a chance to play with their cutie dog. Thank you, Emma and Brian, for an amazing morning canyoning! We went as a pair and were complete beginners, but they made us feel comfortable and confident from the start. They struck the perfect balance between keeping everything safe while still making the experience exciting and adventurous. Had a fantastic Ghyll Scrambling experience with Rocqua Adventures this past weekend. 4 in our group as part of a group of 8. A few ot us had done it before, and some newbies. Very well organised session, excellent equipement and in a beautiful location. Emma and Brian are brilliant guides, setting everyone ay ease and clearly explaining each and every obstacle as we went, along with some really interesting local information about the old mines and how the ghyll came to be. The scramble itself was brilliant fun, with lots of slides through the rocks and jumps in to deeper pools. It was an awesome afternoon, and I would recommend it to anyone. Absolutely brilliant morning ghyll scrambling with Emma. From arrival, we felt like we were in safe hands. We were a party of 7 - two adults and 5 kids between 10-15 and we loved it. Despite the initial shock of the coolness of the water, the wetsuits were great and the slides and jumps had enough variety to keep everyone confident but also challenged. Just back from a fantastic and memorable afternoon with Emma Ghyll Scrambling near Keswick. Emma was such a knowledgeable, friendly and fun guide. All 5 of us, myself, husband and 3 kids aged 14, 11 and 8 were grinning and laughing the whole adventure whether scrambling down waterfalls or totally submerged in beautiful mountain water! My wife, 20-year old daughter, 16-year old son and 51 year old me, all had a brilliant time Ghyll Scrambling.  Emma from Rocqua Adventures guided down the ravine skillfully,  showing us how to navigate the rocks and natural slides, and ensuring we were safe and most importantly, enjoying ourselves. Canyoning and Abseiling Adventure Day in the Lake District.

Begin your Canyoning and Abseiling Adventure Day in the Lake District with an exhilarating abseil down a sheer cliff face, before heading to the Newlands Valley near Keswick for an action-packed canyoning session. This full-day adventure combines two exciting Lake District activities in one unforgettable experience, with expert instruction throughout and challenges tailored to your group.

Canyoning and Abseiling Adventure Day Details:

• Start times available: Morning: 9am 
• Duration: Approximately 6 hours (Depending on group size and ability)
• Ratio: Minimum of 2 person. Maximum of 8 persons (For larger groups please contact us for details)
• Minimum age: 14 years old in a public session & 12 years old in a private session (Under 18s must be supervised and accompanied on the activity by a paying parent/guardian)
• Weight limit: 18 stone maximum

Canyoning and Abseiling Adventure Day– Meeting Point & Parking:

Equipment Provided:

• Wetsuit
• Harness and Helmet
• Buoyancy aid
• A friendly instructor to guide you!

What you will need to bring with you:

• Your own transport to and from the activity sites (Keswick). Your instructor will meet you there.
• Old trainers or boots with a hard sole and high ankle support (Wetsuit shoes or boots are not appropriate for canyoning).
• Swimwear to go underneath your wetsuit.
• Extra layers to keep you warm after your activity (i.e. Fleece, woolly hat, gloves, etc.).
• Towels.
• Packed lunch and snacks or cash to buy some.
• Payment for car parking (National Trust car park for Abseiling).
• Any medical items you may require (i.e. Inhaler, EpiPen, etc.). Please tell your instructor if you have any medical requirement before you start your activity.

Please note: Only bring shoes and clothing for your activity that you don’t mind getting wet and/or dirty. We are not responsible for supplying these items of clothing, we will only supply the safety equipment listed above.
