Introducing
The Hunt
A bold new ROCQUA Adventure taking on the Lake District terrain.
A unique outdoor adventure that transforms the Newlands Valley into a giant game of strategy, teamwork and pursuit. In the shadow of Catbells, your group will be divided into two teams: Hunters and Runners. Everyone will receive a full game briefing along with a basic map-reading lesson to prepare for the challenge. The Runners are released first, navigating a course that covers approx. 9km of Lake District terrain. At each of the four checkpoints, teams face a challenge that must be completed before they can continue.
Using maps, teamwork and quick decision-making, the Hunters must track down the opposing team before they reach the final checkpoint. But there’s a twist – if a Runner is caught, they immediately join the Hunters, strengthening the chasing team and increasing the pressure on those still trying to escape. Throughout the game, players use tag-rugby style tags to minimise physical contact, making The Hunt competitive, exciting and suitable for a wide range of participants.
Perfect for corporate groups, stag and hen parties, sports teams and large groups looking for an unforgettable day in the Lake District. The Hunt combines navigation, teamwork, problem-solving, and fast-paced outdoor action in one epic adventure. Will your team make it to the end before the Hunters close in?

Posted on Google Kirstie s Emma and Brian provided a fantastic experience for our group of 13 people of mixed ages (late teens-late 60’s) and abilities-including a few dodgy knees! We felt well protected by equipment provided and safe in professional and caring hands of amazing guides. Their expert guidance maximised the confidence and really drew the best out of the group, lots of laughter and fully enjoyed by all! Great to experience the Lakes from a different perspective in beautiful clear water surrounded by amazing views Such a great group activity-definitely recommend, looking forward to returning for some canyoning next trip to lakes Big thank youPosted on Google John McCann We did the ghyll scrambling this morning with Emma and have to say it was all good fun. Everything was explained to us beforehand including safety points, and we were kitted out in our wetsuits and safety gear. We were a party of three ages 14, 16 and 57. As we came down the ghyll everything was obviously optional but we did everything we possibly could, slides, jumps, belly flops and even the famous washing machine and it was all good fun while getting soaked and dunked at the same time. This was our second time for 2 of us and their will be a third. Thanks Emma for looking after us 👍Posted on Google Sarah Stewart Rocqua was amazing!! I was treated to the Ghyll Scrambling as a surprise activity for my hen do with my group of friends! Brian and Emma were the best leaders! We had so much fun and it was definitely a highlight from the hen do! Something completely different and fun that everyone could have a go at! Thanks for giving us all an adventure to remember, we had the best time!! 🥳🥳🥳Posted on Google rebecca gilpin We booked the ghyll scrambling with Brian and Emma and they were absolutely amazing. Brian took us up round Stoney Croft and it was so much fun. He explained everything in great detail and demonstrated anything we were unsure on. He took so many brilliant photos too which were so nice to look back on. Absolutely worth having a go, it’s was the perfect morning out. Emma even met us after with their dog Buster and gave us brownie and hot chocolate. 11/10 and we are looking to rebook!! Thank you bothPosted on Google Laura Stewart We had the most amazing morning with Emma and Brian doing Ghyll Scrambling. We were a hen party group for my sisters celebration and they went above and beyond for us all and were both full of fun. The route was such a laugh and amazing to experience. I would recommend them to all as they were so thoughtful with everyone and made us all laugh but feel comfortable and confident. Big love. Can’t wait to do another excursion with them in the future. Thanks Rocqua 🤠Posted on Google hannah stewart What a fantastic Hen activity. The Ghyll Scramble with Brian and Emma was fantastic. They delivered a really personal experience from first contact to the day itself, and their energy was infectious. My sister had an epic time and some of the more nervous were encouraged and allowed to choose the level of challenge and move through the route their way, so meant everyone felt included with the amount of challenge they wanted. Would definitely book again with them! P.s. the brownies were top notchPosted on Google Michael Mcgorrin What an experience! Brian and Emma couldn’t have been more lovely and professional. From the moment we arrived to minute we left we were welcomed and well looked after. The morning was packed full of laughter, moments, and great conversation. We were even sent a video on the day of our experience which I thought was a brilliant touch as we wasn’t expecting them, and at no extra cost! We finished the morning off with complimentary hot chocolate and some amazing brownies Emma made for us. They didn’t last long 😂, and were the icing on the cake to a brilliant morning. We cannot recommend Rocqua adventures enough. You are in safe hands with this incredible couple. We will definitely be using them again. Thank you both for making our holiday 🙏Posted on Google Alison Corner We had such a fun morning paddleboarding as a family of four. Only our teenager daughter had paddle boarded once before so we were mainly beginners .Emma was such a brilliant instructor; helped us build our confidence, super skilled and knowledgeable and lots of fun- we all absolutely loved the session. Would definitely recommend for a family activity. 5 out of 5 for Brian and Emma- thank you for a brilliant morning on the water ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Posted on Google Gemma Pryor What an amazing experience with our 3 young daughters Grylls Scrambling with Brian. We had the best time. Brian made even our youngest who wasn’t sure at first feel confident and have the best time. We are so glad we booked this experience with you both in Keswick. Also the added bonus of Emma’s yummy brownies at the end.Posted on Google Elizabeth Lovejoy As part of our honeymoon we went on a three hour paddle boarding lesson on Derwent water, Keswick. We were recommended to go with Rocqua Adventures, we’re so pleased we did. I’m scared of the water, Brian was an outstanding instructor, he stayed close by me, gave us clear instructions and made us feel comfortable and confident throughout our whole experience. We’ll definitely be using Rocqua again for more fun outdoor adventures, excellent value for money, outstanding service. Thank you Brian and Emma so much, we loved our experience.
