Introducing
The Hunt
A bold new ROCQUA Adventure taking on the Lake District terrain.
A unique outdoor adventure that transforms the Newlands Valley into a giant game of strategy, teamwork and pursuit. In the shadow of Catbells, your group will be divided into two teams: Hunters and Runners. Everyone will receive a full game briefing along with a basic map-reading lesson to prepare for the challenge. The Runners are released first, navigating a course that covers approx. 9km of Lake District terrain. At each of the four checkpoints, teams face a challenge that must be completed before they can continue.
Using maps, teamwork and quick decision-making, the Hunters must track down the opposing team before they reach the final checkpoint. But there’s a twist – if a Runner is caught, they immediately join the Hunters, strengthening the chasing team and increasing the pressure on those still trying to escape. Throughout the game, players use tag-rugby style tags to minimise physical contact, making The Hunt competitive, exciting and suitable for a wide range of participants.
Perfect for corporate groups, stag and hen parties, sports teams and large groups looking for an unforgettable day in the Lake District. The Hunt combines navigation, teamwork, problem-solving, and fast-paced outdoor action in one epic adventure. Will your team make it to the end before the Hunters close in?

Went with the missus and two of our friends. What a laugh, great experience, so much fun from start to finish. I'd say it didn't last long enough, but only because we could have carried on all evening! Great company, Brian and Emma are a lovely couple, offering a friendly and personal experience. Topping the day off with one of Emma's homemade brownies! Thank you guys, we are already planning our next adventure with you. Honestly can't recommend Rocqua Adventures enough!Posted on Google Leah JonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really safe, friendly and fun. Can't recommend highly enough. Enjoyed the history lesson and brownies at the endPosted on Google Kat GueniouiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had such a fab time with Emma today. We've been ghyll scrambling before but this was a step up both in terms of difficulty and support. The changing tents were particularly appreciated! Emma was super confident and encouraging and totally unfazed by our youngest's sensory wobbles. We all had a brilliant time and will definitely book with Rocqua again. Highly recommend!Posted on Google David SturgessTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an amazing experience ghyll scrambling with Emma, could not recommend Emma & Brian more. The activity was great and the hosts were a lot of fun, the homemade brownie afterwards was an extra treat. We will 100% be back for one of their other activities! Thanks so much 😊Posted on Google Bersma SSSTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great experience with Rocqua Adventures. The booking process was smooth and the website layout is informative and clear. In particular, we really appreciated being able to input the heights of my girls so that the instructors could prepare suitable equipment and gear in advance. It was a thoughtful detail that ensured they were accommodated and had comfortable climbing shoes. Prior to our rock climbing activity, our instructor Emma informed us that the outdoor rocks might be slippery and gave us options for how to handle it. We chose to climb indoors, and Emma delivered a lovely session featuring a range of routes with varying difficulty levels, providing appropriate challenges like vertical climbs and overhangs. My girls really enjoyed it and felt like they learned great technique. The paddle-boarding session with Emma was also superb. She kept it engaging and helped both of my girls feel much more confident on the water. Overall, we’d like to thank the team for their hard work and preparation, especially Emma, who was friendly, supportive, and professional. We loved the sessions and really felt their enthusiasm and passion!Posted on Google CharlotteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Best company to book an adventure with in the Lake District! 100/10 experience! Brian and Emma were amazing, professional and very knowledgeable. They both have a great sense of humour and put us both at ease making us feel safe the entire journey. They gave clear safety instruction and encouraged us at our own pace. They had great equipment and the views were stunning. They gave my partner the best birthday she's ever had. I really would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a thrill - I will definitely be booking with them again!Posted on Google Christine CaulfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would definitely do againPosted on Google Jing BuerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was such a joy to climb with Brian and Emma, we’ve learned loads and had so much fun, highly recommend climb with them, whether you are a beginner or an intermediate climberPosted on Google Elizabeth VickersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. we went ghyll scrambling near Keswick and it was a really fun way to spend an afternoon, enjoyed by the whole family, including the grumpy teenager. We felt really safe under the patient, friendly and enthusiastic guidance of Emma who clearly knew the area like the back of her hand. Great safety equipment provided. Plus they had even put up a tent for us to get changed in and gave us each a piece of home made cake at the end. I would highly recommend this company.
