I was surprised with Ghyll Scrambling for my hen do and I couldn’t have been happier! I laughed so much, and had an amazing time during the activity. Emma and Brian were incredible! Super friendly and made us feel so safe. Once we’d finished I got another surprise of homemade brownies, Prosecco and a chance to play with their cutie dog. Thank you, Emma and Brian, for an amazing morning canyoning! We went as a pair and were complete beginners, but they made us feel comfortable and confident from the start. They struck the perfect balance between keeping everything safe while still making the experience exciting and adventurous. Had a fantastic Ghyll Scrambling experience with Rocqua Adventures this past weekend. 4 in our group as part of a group of 8. A few ot us had done it before, and some newbies. Very well organised session, excellent equipement and in a beautiful location. Emma and Brian are brilliant guides, setting everyone ay ease and clearly explaining each and every obstacle as we went, along with some really interesting local information about the old mines and how the ghyll came to be. The scramble itself was brilliant fun, with lots of slides through the rocks and jumps in to deeper pools. It was an awesome afternoon, and I would recommend it to anyone. Absolutely brilliant morning ghyll scrambling with Emma. From arrival, we felt like we were in safe hands. We were a party of 7 - two adults and 5 kids between 10-15 and we loved it. Despite the initial shock of the coolness of the water, the wetsuits were great and the slides and jumps had enough variety to keep everyone confident but also challenged. Just back from a fantastic and memorable afternoon with Emma Ghyll Scrambling near Keswick. Emma was such a knowledgeable, friendly and fun guide. All 5 of us, myself, husband and 3 kids aged 14, 11 and 8 were grinning and laughing the whole adventure whether scrambling down waterfalls or totally submerged in beautiful mountain water! My wife, 20-year old daughter, 16-year old son and 51 year old me, all had a brilliant time Ghyll Scrambling.  Emma from Rocqua Adventures guided down the ravine skillfully,  showing us how to navigate the rocks and natural slides, and ensuring we were safe and most importantly, enjoying ourselves. Night Abseil Keswick

Take on the ultimate adventure with our Night Abseil in Keswick. This exciting activity lets you descend into the darkness of a Lakeland crag, adding a thrilling twist to your abseiling experience. After dark, meet your instructor at Bowderstone car park in the Borrowdale Valley, Keswick. From there, you’ll receive a full safety briefing and be shown all the necessary techniques before you tackle your abseil in the winter night.

Abseiling at night offers a truly unique challenge. The cold air and dark surroundings make this adventure even more exhilarating. With a head torch lighting your way, you’ll feel the adrenaline as you descend the crag into the unknown. This experience is perfect for those looking to push their limits and try something truly extraordinary in the heart of the Lake District.

The Winter night abseil is ideal for adventure seekers of all levels. Whether you’re new to abseiling or a seasoned climber, our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way, ensuring a safe and unforgettable experience under the stars.

Night Abseil Keswick – Activity Details:

• Start times available: October-November 8pm only. December-January 5pm & 8pm. February 8pm only 
• Duration: Approximately 2 hours (Depending on group size and ability)
• Ratio: Minimum of 2 person. Maximum of 6 persons (For larger groups please contact us for details)
• Minimum age: 14 years old (Under 18s must be supervised and accompanied on the activity by a paying parent/guardian)
• Weight limit: 18 stone maximum

Equipment Provided:

• High visibility clothing
• Head torch
• Harness

What you will need to bring with you:

• Your own transport to and from the activity site(Borrowdale, Keswick). Your instructor will meet you there
• A comfortable trainer or boot
• Warm winter clothing suitable for cold nights
• Long sleeved top and trousers
• Payment for parking (National Trust car park)
• Refreshments (no alcohol)
• Any medical items you may require (i.e. Inhaler, EpiPen, etc.). Please tell your instructor if you have any medical requirement before you start your activity
